For Him: Part 18

Welcome to Part 18 of the series "Dear Future Spouse." These are real people who are writing to their future King and Queen. They do not personally know each other, but they are getting to know each other through the letters. Each week, you will find a response to the letter before. So, grab some coffee, tea, or tissue, and enjoy! Tell us what you think!

Dear Future Husband,

Reading your letter reminded me of something I struggled with a lot during my teenage years. I was always raised in the church, and my parents instilled Christian morals and principles from a

young age. I believed in God and loved Jesus but questioned if I was really saved because I didn’t “hear” God like a lot of adults around me said “God told them_____.” Sometimes I felt like an incomplete Christian, or that I was missing out on something.

I dug deeper in my prayer life and reading the Bible and started to understand just as people have different ways to display their worship (shouting, swaying, dancing, crying, etc), God can speak to us in ways He doesn’t speak to others. I used to always be afraid to ask older saints how God speaks to them or how do they know, but I now come to view it similar to our conversation about love languages. Understanding how you want to be loved will help me understand the right way to speak to you. Understanding how you spend your quiet time with God will help me know when to leave you two alone, so you can make the right decisions for our family.

Dear Husband, how do you know God is really speaking to you? If you had to help a new Christian understand how to commune with God and really listen, what words of wisdom would you give them? Most importantly, what do you think I could do as your future wife to help you continue to draw near to Him?

I anxiously await your reply and pray God’s protection over you as you continue this daily journey called life.

Love,

Your Future Wife
