Welcome to Part 24 of the series "Dear Future Spouse." These are real people who are writing to their future King and Queen. They do not personally know each other, but they are getting to know each other through the letters. Each week, you will find a response to the letter before. So, grab some coffee, tea, or tissue, and enjoy! Tell us what you think!
Dear Future Husband,
Your point about healing from past hurts before entering future relationships is so important to me. I’ve made mistakes in the past by entering new relationships before I was fully ready to, and I felt like that was one of the first displays of being “unequally yoked.” There is a certain level of preparedness and self care required prior to entering a healthy, fulfilling relationship.
Regarding your questions:
*If you could turn any competition tv show into a date for us, which show and why?
I would turn Chopped into a date for us. I love food and cooking, and this would force us to stretch our creativity to make something amazing out of the weird combination of ingredients.
*What did your last relationship teach you about love?
Love is a verb. This means your actions should match your diction and profession. There were many occasions and arguments that were caused because while we may have claimed to love each other, if someone were to observe our actions, it would be very hard to tell.
*With so much tragedy going on in the world right now, what most concerns you at this moment, and what would you desire to do, as husband and wife, to contribute to helping that concern become better?
Last year, a mentee of mine found himself in need of desperate financial assistance. It wasn’t much, and it didn’t hurt me to help, but it showed me that I wanted to create a Help-a-Friend fund. A completely separate bank account that I can give without expecting return to friends in need. This would also come in handy for relief efforts with Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. I’ve found ways to give, but I want to do so much more for those in need.
*Are you into sports? If so, what got you into to them. If, not what is your favorite pass time activity, if you have one?
I LOVE football! My best friend and I affectionately call it “the most wonderful time of the year.” I don’t have a favorite team, but this is my 4th season playing fantasy football so I’m definitely rooting for several players to have a healthy and prosperous season.
Earlier today, a friend posted on Facebook that now is the time to start preparing vision boards. His logic was if we plan now, come January 2018, we will have a designated plan in place. What are some things you are working towards next year? I truly look forward to praying for the things on your list.
Until next time my sweet,
Your Future Wife
